zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
We actively work to prevent, detect, and respond to any content or behavior that endangers children.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY: Any content depicting, promoting, or facilitating child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
or the exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination
and reporting to law enforcement authorities.
Prohibited Content & Behavior
The following is strictly prohibited on Diaspora Link:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
- Sexual content involving minors, including illustrations or digitally-generated content
- Grooming behavior or attempts to contact minors for sexual purposes
- Sharing, requesting, or distributing exploitative content involving children
- Any content that sexualizes minors
- Sextortion or blackmail involving minors
- Human trafficking content involving children
- Content promoting or glorifying harm to children
Detection & Prevention Measures
We employ multiple layers of protection to prevent CSAE on our platform:
Proactive Detection
- Automated content scanning and hash-matching technologies
- AI-powered detection systems for potentially harmful content
- Regular platform monitoring by our Trust & Safety team
User Reporting
- In-app reporting: Users can report concerning content or behavior directly within the app using the "Report" feature
- Dedicated child safety reports: Our reporting system includes a specific "Child Safety Concern" category for priority review
- All child safety reports are reviewed with the highest priority
Account Controls
- User blocking functionality to prevent unwanted contact
- Content moderation on all user-generated content
- Email verification requirements for all accounts
Response Procedures
When we identify or receive reports of potential CSAE:
- Immediate Action: Suspected CSAM is removed immediately and the account is suspended
- Evidence Preservation: We preserve all relevant data for law enforcement
- Law Enforcement Reporting: We report all instances of CSAM to:
- The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via CyberTipline
- Relevant local and national law enforcement agencies
- Applicable regional authorities as required by law
- Account Termination: Accounts involved in CSAE are permanently terminated
- Prevention: We implement measures to prevent the user from creating new accounts
Cooperation with Authorities
Diaspora Link cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies investigating child exploitation. We:
- Respond promptly to valid legal requests
- Provide relevant user data and content as legally required
- Maintain relationships with relevant law enforcement agencies
- Participate in industry initiatives to combat CSAE
